What 's the best diet
for me to eat?
paula
This is the question I get commonly
asked by clients at my various nutritional clinics. People genuinely
want to eat well but are confused by the conflicting messages about
what they should and shouldn't eat. Low carb, high carb, high
protein versus low protein, vegetarian versus omnivorus. What
is the ideal diet for longevity and optimal health?
Well the answer is that it depends.
It depends on who you are, what your needs are and how your
metabolism works. Some people do very well on high amounts of
carbohydrate foods such as bread, potatoes and rice (with smaller
amounts of protein and fat), while other people thrive on high
amounts of protein.
So how can you work
out what the right diet is for you?
Well that's where metabolic typing
comes in. Metabolic typing is a system which uses specific
information about your body's biochemistry to determine the right
diet for you. There are a number of ways of gathering this
information but at The Nutrition Link we use a simple questionnaire
based on the work of the metabolic
typing guru William
Woolcot

.
So will I have to
give up everything I enjoy?
No! In most cases eating right for
your metabolic type will simply mean changes the proportions of the
food types that you eat and restricting intake of a few specific
foods.
So what's
the benefit of metabolic typing?
The benefits of eating right for
your metabolic type are numerous and include weight loss, improved
energy and freedom from various niggling health
complaints.

Here's what some of our
clients have to say about metabolic typing.
'Thank you so much Paula,
I've been noticing a significant improvement in my energy and
wellbeing from following my new diet.' Jo Luton
'Wow! I can't believe
how much weight I have lost since following my new plan' Margaret,
Watford
